Aloyzas Kveinys (July 9, 1962 – July 26, 2018) was a Lithuanian Grandmaster of chess. He was born in Vilnus, Lithuania. His highest Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) rating, 2545, was achieved in January 2015.


In his distinguished career, Kveinys achieved many highlights. He won his national Lithuanian Chess Championship in 1985 and 1986. His first international success occurred at an international tournament in Moscow in 1990 when he achieved shared 3rd-5th places. He proceeded to win or tied for the first place in various international chess tournaments over the years, including in Copenhagen (1991, 1992), Reykjavik (1992), Stockholm (1993), and in the 1997 Open Championship of Germany.


Kveinys played in the Chess Olympiads nine times between 1992 and 2018, representing Lithuania. He won an individual silver medal at the 37th Chess Olympiad in 2006. He was awarded the International Master title in 1990 and received his Grandmaster title in 1992.


Kveinys passed away on July 26, 2018 in Vilnius.
