Guillaume Lamard is a French chess grandmaster. His path to the title ran through the French open circuit: second place and an International Master norm at the Condom Chess Festival in July 2019, victory at the Lyon International Tournament that December, and first place at the Aix-en-Provence Open in August 2022, won on tiebreaks ahead of Sergey Fedorchuk and Pierre Bailet - a result that also brought his first Grandmaster norm.

Aix-en-Provence proved his happy hunting ground: he returned in July 2024 to earn his final norm at the same event and complete the Grandmaster title.
