Denis Lazavik is a Belarusian chess Grandmaster. He was born on November 12, 1995, in Molodechno, Belarus. He earned the title of FIDE Master in 2012, International Master in 2014, and ultimately Grandmaster in 2018. Lazavik is recognized for his significant contributions to team chess competitions, representing Belarus in Chess Olympiads and European Team Chess Championships.
At the age of 16, Lazavik achieved his first notable success by winning the U18 category of the 2012 European Youth Chess Championship. He also won the Belarusian Junior Chess Championship in both 2012 and 2013. In 2014, he won the Tenkes Kupa tournament in Harkány, Hungary. He continued his success in 2015 by winning the 43rd Bosna International Chess Tournament in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, and the 32nd Zalakaros Chess Festival in Hungary.
Denis Lazavik has holder notable performances in a number of chess team competitions, representing Belarus. He played three times in the European U18 Team Chess Championship, where in 2011, he won a team silver medal and in 2012, an individual gold. He participated twice in the World U16 Chess Olympiad, where the team won silver in 2011. Lazavik was part of the Belarus team in the Chess Olympiads of 2014 and 2018, and the European Team Chess Championships of 2013 and 2017.
