Nikolay A. Legky is a distinguished French-Ukrainian chess player who holds the title of International Master (IM) and the French Champion title. While his official birthdate or date of birth is still unknown, it's apparent that he was born in Kiev, Soviet Union (now Ukraine).

His achievements in the world of chess span throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries. He won the Ukrainian Chess Championship in 1981, an honour that would be followed decades later by securing the title of French Chess Champion in 2012.

Significant matches of note include playing for the Ukrainian team at the 23rd Chess Olympiad in Buenos Aires, and his participation in several Chess Olympiads, representing Ukraine in 1978 and France in 2004 and 2006.

Legky's other achievements extend to the Asian Chess Championship in Tehran in 1981, the Championship of Latvia in 1984 and 1985 and the Estonian U20 Championship of 1985.

His FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs, or World Chess Federation) rating, an important measure that reflects a chess player's skills based on their performance against other players, is currently 2425.

In addition to his active participation in tournaments, he also works as a chess coach. He coaches in France at the Clichy-Echecs-92 club based in Paris, where he has contributed significantly to its success in French Chess Championships.
