Alexandre Lesiège is a Canadian chess Grandmaster. Born on 18th September 1975, he was awarded the Grandmaster title in 1998 by FIDE, the International Chess Federation. He won the Quebec Chess Championship in 1996, 1997, 2011 and 2013. He also was the Canadian Chess champion in 1997 and 1999.
In 1998, Lesiège showed exceptional chess skills at the FIDE World Chess Championship where he made it to the second round. His highest world ranking was in 2002, at 67th place. He became inactive as a player in 2003 to focus on his career as a teacher but returned to chess in 2011 at the Quebec Open Championship.
Outside chess, Lesiège is currently a mathematics teacher at the Cégep régional de Lanaudière à Terrebonne.
