Awonder Liang is an American chess prodigy and grandmaster. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin in 2003 and started playing chess competitively at a young age. Liang is known for setting multiple records in his early career.

In 2015, Liang became a FIDE International Master at age 11, making him the youngest American to achieve this title. He won the K-9 section of the USCF Supernationals competition in the same year.
