Liang Jinrong is a Chinese chess player who achieved the prestigious title of Grandmaster (GM) in 1998.


He was born on April 29, 1960, in Guangzhou, China. He learned to play chess at the relatively late age of 19, but quickly progressed and in 1990 won the Chinese Chess Championship.


In the early 1990s, Liang resided in Germany where he became German Open Champion in 1993. During this period, he also claimed victory at the Manhattan Chess Club Spring Futurity tournament in New York in 1994.


The pinnacle of Liang's career came in 1998, when he secured the title of Grandmaster. The following year, he returned to his native China and began working as a chess trainer, guiding others in achieving success in the game.


He is a distinguished chess author and has written popular books such as "Cuttasks" and "A Course in Game Tactics". These works greatly contribute to his reputation as a profound chess theorist.


Nowadays, Liang Jinrong does not appear frequently in competitive play, choosing instead to focus on his work as a trainer and author. Despite this, his reputation and legacy in the world of chess remain strong.
