Lin Chen (born November 28, 1991) is a Chinese chess prodigy and highly accomplished player. He was born in Zhejiang, China and started playing chess at just age 4, closely guided by his father. He won the World Youth Chess Championship in the Under-10 category in 2002, showcasing his exceptional talent. In 2008, he became a Grandmaster at 16, becoming one of the youngest ever to earn the prestigious title.
Lin has shown extraordinary performances in the Chinese Chess Championships. He secured second place in 2007 and 2008, and won the championship in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2019. He has competed in multiple Chess Olympiads, taking home team silver and individual bronze in 2012. He also won the gold medal at the 2010 Asian Team Chess Championship.
