Martin Lorenzini is an Argentine Chess Grandmaster. Born on June 9th, 1960 in Argentina, he earned his FIDE (Federation Internationale des Echecs) International Master title in 1985 and was awarded his Grandmaster title in July 1988. Lorenzini made significant accomplishments in the chess community, participated in many chess events, and secured notable victories over several prominent players.

Furthermore, he has greatly contributed to team events. From 1984 to 2002, Lorenzini competed in seven chess Olympiads. Besides, he was also a member of the "Club Argentino" team that won the bronze medal in the Pan American Championship in 1995.

Despite his incredible achievements in the chess industry, Lorenzini maintained a full-time job as a state employee. This was the primary reason why he didn't participate in chess tournaments after 2002.

In the 2016 Buenos Aires province Championship, Lorenzini ended his 14-year hiatus, returning to the chess circuit in grand style. He won the championship by defeating Rosito Jorge to become the Buenos Aires province champion. This victory granted him the participation in the 2019 Argentina Chess Championship.

In 2018, he attended the 12th American Continental Championship in Montevideo. A year later, he received an invitation to participate in the international chess festival of Buenos Aires alongside 150 players. He finished in 19th place in the open tournament.
