GM Mircea-Sergiu Lupu

Mircea-Sergiu Lupu is a Romanian-French chess player and became the International Master (IM) in 1982. He was born on January 18, 1956 in Bucharest, Romania. In 1981, he was recognized as Romanian Chess Champion. He has participated in multiple international and national tournaments. Lupu has also played for Romania in the World Chess Championships in 1984 and 1987. After moving to France, he continued his chess career and became a French Chess Champion in 1989. He stopped participating in competitive games during 1994-2002 but resumed his career in Romania and France after that period. In 2003, he became a FIDE Trainer.
