In 2005, he moved to Serbia. Luther is the chairperson of FIDE Dispute Resolution Commission, tasked with resolving problems related to competition. Also, he is involved with the 'Chess in Schools' commission. In 2017, Luther joined a team at Yuri Averbakh’s Chess-Is-My-Life Foundation focusing on providing help to disabled chess players.
