Andrei Maksimenko is a Ukrainian chess Grandmaster. He was born on 30 January 1987 in Crimea. Maksimenko earned the title of Grandmaster when he was 21, in 2008. In addition, he also holds the title of FIDE Trainer, awarded in 2017.
Aside from his achievements as a player, Maksimenko also dedicates time to coaching. He has helped train the Ukrainian Women's National Team, leading them to win several high-profile tournaments. His students include an array of successful players, such as IM Svetlana Petrenko and GM Kirill Shevchenko.
Furthermore, Maksimenko is known for his contribution to chess literature. He has published several books, including "Tacticarenko" and "Rook vs Two Minor Pieces". He co-authored these books with another Ukrainian Grandmaster, Evgeny Miroshnichenko.
