Slavoljub Marjanović is a Serbian chess Grandmaster who was born on January 6, 1955 in Belgrade. He was awarded an International Master (IM) title in 1978 and in 1985, he became a Grandmaster.
Marjanović competed in several Yugoslav Chess Championships, achieving 2nd place two times in 1977 and 1985. He also represented Yugoslavia in the Chess Olympiads multiple times, in 1978, 1980 and 1982, and won a gold medal in the 1980 Chess Olympiad in Malta.
Achievements also include shared 1st place in multiple tournaments including Vrnjačka Banja 1977, Bern 1987 and Belgrade 1988. He also shared 3rd place in Birmingham 1977.
In addition to playing, Marjanović also worked as a chess journalist and a coach. He served as the men's coach for the Serbian national team at the 39th Chess Olympiad.
