Slobodan Martinović is a Serbian chess Grandmaster. He was born on March 27, 1945 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Martinović was awarded the International Master (IM) title in 1975, the Grandmaster (GM) title in 1977, and the International Arbiter (IA) title in 1997.


He was a three-time Yugoslav Chess Championship competitor, coming third in 1968, second in 1978, and first in 1980. He also won the Yugoslav Team Chess Championship in 1980. Internationally, Martinovic competed in seven Chess Olympiads from 1968 to 1982.


He has also competed in several national and international tournaments, winning or co-winning several of them. These include tournaments in Dortmund, Bagneux, and Aubervilliers. He is still active in chess, participating in the Serbian Chess Championship in 2006 and working as a chess trainer and arbiter.


His playing style is known for being aggressive and uncompromising, often employing the Sicilian Defence and the King's Indian Defence.
