Dimitrios Mastrovasilis is a Greek chess Grandmaster and a three-time Greek Chess Champion. He was born in Chania, Crete, Greece on 11 November 1979. He has achieved multiple accomplishments in his career, including earning his International Master title in 2000 and his Grandmaster title in 2003. After these initial achievements, he won the Greek Chess Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2008. In addition, he represented Greece on multiple occasions in international competitions, such as the Chess Olympiad and the European Team Chess Championship. Aside from his competitive career, Mastrovasilis has also taken on coaching roles, notably coaching the Greek Women's National team in the 2014 Chess Olympiad. He also authored a book on the French Defence, a specific strategy in chess.
