Everaldo Matsuura (born June 11, 1962 in Maringá😉 is a Brazilian chess player with the title of International Grandmaster. He achieved this title in 2010 after scoring his final Grandmaster norm at an international chess tournament in Bento Gonçalves.


Matsuura won the Brazilian Chess Championship five times, in the years 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992, and 2011. In the years 1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1998, 2000, and 2002, he represented Brazil at the Chess Olympiads.


He also participated in several FIDE Interzonals. In 1987 he played in the Subotica Interzonal, and in 1989 in the Palma de Mallorca Interzonal. He played in the FIDE World Chess Championship 2004 and the FIDE World Chess Championship 2006. His best international result was the shared third place at the American Continental Chess Championship 2005 in Boca Raton.
