Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian (born 4 April 1986) is a Brazilian chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (GM) which is the highest title a chess player can attain and was introduced by FIDE in 1950. Born in São Paulo, he achieved the title in 2010. He has competed in multiple international chess tournaments and his highest ranking was 2619.


He earned his International Master (IM) title in 2006 and the title of GM four years later. A vital win for him that led to obtaining the GM title was a victory at the 3rd Ibero-American Championship in Mexico in 2010.


Additionally, he became Brazilian Chess Champion in 2012 and also won the Brazilian Blitz Championship in 2019.


Mekhitarian worked as a coach at the Saint Louis Chess Club in Missouri from 2015 till 2019. From there, he transitioned to work as a commentator and content creator for chess platforms.
