Lubomir Mikhaletz is a chess Grandmaster from Ukraine. Born on 10 May 1972, he earned his Grandmaster title in 1990. In that same year, he finished as the runner-up in the Ukrainian Chess Championship. He has achieved significant success in several team events, including the European Team Championships where he won a team gold medal in 2001 and individual bronze medals in 1997 and 2007.
Mikhaletz also represented Ukraine in the Chess Olympiads in 1992, 1994, 1996, and 1998. While he didn't win any individual medals, his strong performances contributed to Ukraine winning a team bronze medal in the 1998 event.
In addition to his competition successes, Mikhaletz is an accomplished author in the field of chess. He has written several books, including the popular "Bishop's Opening" and "Vienna Game".
