Danilo Milanović is a prominent Serbian chess Grandmaster (GM). He was born on 20th November 1972 in Zemun, Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He became an International Master in 1991 and then a Grandmaster in 1995.
Milanović gained international attention when he won the European Junior Chess Championship in 1991 and the World Junior Chess Championship three years later, in 1994.
His other notable achievements on the chess circuit include reaching Team World Championship finals in 1993, where he won the silver medal, and being part of the Yugoslavian team who won gold in 1995's European Team Chess Championships.
Over his professional career, Milanović has played against some of the world's top chess players, producing notable results against stars such as Vladimir Kramnik and Veselin Topalov among others at Corus tournament in 1995.
Besides his achievements in the playing field, Milanović has also honed a career as a chess coach, leading the Serbian national team in 2004.
