Leonid Milov is a Ukrainian and German chess Grandmaster (GM) who was born on August 30, 1962 in Kemerovo, Russia. His highest World Chess Federation ranking was 2569, which he achieved in October 2008.
Milov emigrated to Germany in the 1980s and then switched federations to Ukraine in 2004. However, he switched back to Germany in 2013. His World Chess Federation ID number is 14101101.
Milov's major tournament victories include shared first places at the Dortmund Open in 1991, Bad Wiessee Open in 1992, and Cappelle-la-Grande Open in 1993. He also placed first in the 2nd Werner-Ott-Open in Berlin in 2007.
In 2011, Milov was involved in a legal dispute with the World Chess Federation. He forfeited a match in the European Individual Chess Championship due to a discrepancy in the clock and appealed the federation's decision, but ultimately lost.
