Azer Mirzoev is an Azerbaijani chess grandmaster. Born on April 29, 1978 in Baku, Azerbaijan, Mirzoev was awarded the title of International Master in 1998 and the title of Grandmaster in 2002. He has several notable successes in his chess career, including winning the Agzamov Memorial tournament in 2007 and the Barcelona tournament in 2011. Outside of competing, Mirzoev also works as a chess coach. His most notable student is the Women's World Chess Champion, Antoaneta Stefanova.
