Guha Mitrabha is an Indian chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (GM). He was born on 15 August 2001 in Kolkata, India. He earned the title of International Master (IM) in 2018 before achieving his highest ranking FIDE rated junior in 2021.


His chess upbringing and training were overseen by his father, Subrata Guha, who is also a renowned chess player. He received additional mentorship from reputable chess coaches: Dibyendu Barua, Surya Shekhar Ganguly and Deepan Chakkravarthy J.


Mitrabha won several notable tournaments such as the West Bengal State junior championship and the National sub-junior championship in 2013. In 2018, he earned the International Master title after winning the Kolkata Open International Grandmasters Chess Tournament. He also represented India during the 2018 Chess Olympiad, where he performed admirably.


His performances in international tournaments like the RTU Open 2021 in Riga, 5th Goa GM 2021 International Open Chess Tournament, and National Challengers Chess Championship contributed to his Grandmaster norm. Finally, on February 5, 2022, he achieved the title of Grandmaster, making him one of the youngest Indian GMs.


Outside of chess, Mitrabha pursues an education. He is a student of Scottish Church Collegiate School in Kolkata, and he enjoys watching football, movies, listening to music, and reading books.
