Georg Mohr is a Slovenian chess Grandmaster. Born on October 24, 1965, in Maribor, Slovenia, Mohr has represented his country in several tournaments throughout his career. He earned his International Master title in 1989, and in 1991, he won the national championship. He received his Grandmaster title in 1995.
Throughout his career, he has participated in nine Chess Olympiads, three of which have been as part of Slovenia's team and six as part of Yugoslavia's team. Mohr is known for his accomplishments in international chess tournaments. For instance, in 1991, he won the Vidmar Memorial. Several years later, in 1996, he took first place at an international tournament in Cannes.
Aside from playing, Mohr is also involved in chess coaching and writing. He has authored several books on the game and has worked as a coach for the Slovenian national team. He has also served as a chess trainer at the Dubai Chess & Culture Club. Other notable achievements include his work in promotion of chess for the disabled in Slovenia.
