Al Rakib Mollah Abdullah is centered around his career as a Bangladeshi chess player. He has been a FIDE Master since 1995. Abdul gained the title of International Master in 1997, and many of his notable achievements followed. His greatest accomplishment was gaining the title of Grandmaster, the highest honor in chess, in 2008.
Named the 2002 Commonwealth Champion and the 2009 and 2012 Bangladesh Chess Champion.
In 2019, Al Rakib Mollah Abdullah emerged as the runner up in the Marcel Duchamp Anniversary GM Chess Tournament. He was also in the third position at the Campomanes Memorial in the Spanish city of Malaga the same year.
In team competitions, Abdullah has represented Bangladesh in the Chess Olympiad, the Asian Team Chess Championship, and the U16 Olympiad.
