Mackenzie Molner is an American chess Grandmaster. He was born on 1st November 1988 in Englewood, New Jersey. Molner attended Montclair Kimberley Academy and subsequently Arizona State University. He holds an English degree and a Global Studies Certificate from the institution.
In 2007, Molner won the New Jersey State Chess Championship, and, in 2008, he was a co-recipient of the Frank K Berry US Chess Championship. His first Grandmaster norm was achieved at the 2012 Philadelphia International competition, where he finished tied for first place. He achieved his second norm at the 2013 World Open and his third norm at the 2013 Saint Louis Invitational, making him a Grandmaster.
