Javier Moreno Carnero is a Spanish chess Grandmaster. He was born in Cordoba, Spain on March 18, 1975. He earned the title of FIDE Master in 2002 and then the Grandmaster title in 2004. He specialized in closed games, particularly the Dutch Defence.
Carnero has had many achievements in his chess career spanning multiple decades. He participated in various national and international tournaments, including the 2006 Chess Olympiad and the 2008 Spanish Chess Championship where he finished third.
In addition to his competitive career, he is also active in teaching chess. He served as a trainer for the Andalusian Chess Federation and the Spanish Chess Federation. He has also authored several books on chess.
Despite his numerous accomplishments, Carnero remains a relatively unknown figure in the world of chess, as he has preferred to remain largely out of the spotlight.
