Morozevich's career milestones include winning the Russian Championship twice (in 1998 and 2007) and the Biel Grandmaster Tournament six times (in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007). He's also won other major tournaments such as the Pamplona tournament in 1999 and the Amber tournament in 2002 and 2004.
His performance in team competitions includes helping Russia win the World Team Chess Championship in 2005 and the 1998 Chess Olympiad. He has also competed for Russia at the European Team Chess Championships; in the 2005 event, he won individual and team gold medals on the top board.
