Miguel Muñoz Nebot is a Spanish chess grandmaster who was also the Spanish chess champion three times in the 1940s, having won in 1944, 1945, and 1946. He was born in Valencia, Spain on November 10, 1913 and passed away on September 6, 1998.


Muñoz played for Spain in the Chess Olympiads of 1958, 1962, and 1964. He was bestowed with the title of International Master (IM) in 1950 and the title of Honorary Grandmaster (GM) in 1988. He participated in the Interzonal Tournament of 1950 in Saltsjöbaden, Sweden and earned 9th place. He went on to secure further victories in the Spanish team championships playing for the Barcelona Creu de Llorito Club in 1975, 1976, 1978, and 1979.


In his lifetime, Muñoz also wrote about chess, co-authoring the book "Ajedrez hipermoderno" with Luis Ramírez de Lucena in 1965. He remains a significant figure in the world of Spanish chess and globally.
