Nagy has participated in several team chess events. He was a part of the Hungarian team that won the silver medal in the European U16 Team Chess Championship in 2001. He also represented Hungary in two World Youth U16 Chess Olympiads in 2001 and 2002. Nagy has played in the Hungarian Team Chess Championship and 4NCL.
Gábor Nagy has also left his mark in individual chess events. He earned his International Master (IM) title in 2006. He tied for first place in the International Balaton Chess Festival in Balatonlelle in 2007. In 2014, Nagy won the Zalakaros Chess Festival.
Gábor Nagy is also a dedicated writer and educator, having composed a plethora of manuscripts, most of them pertaining to the game of chess. He also shares his deep understanding of the game through his training lessons on various chess platforms. He’s considered as one of the most dedicated ambassadors of chess in Hungary.
