In 2001, he earned the Grandmaster title at the age of 15, becoming the youngest player in the world to do so at the time. Naiditsch represented Germany at seven Chess Olympiads from 2004 to 2014, winning an individual bronze medal in 2006. In 2010, he won the German Chess Championship.
