Evgeniy Najer is a Russian chess Grandmaster who won the European Individual Chess Championship in 2015. Born on June 22, 1977, he became a Grandmaster in 1999 and has since participated in several international and national chess competitions.
His chess career highlights include winning the 1997 World Junior Chess Championship in Medellín, Colombia, and taking first place at the Aeroflot Open, Eforie Nord Rodosto, and in Philip Morris, Sarajevo, in 2003. He also emerged as the Moscow Champion in both 2005 and 2006.
In team competitions, he has played for Russian Federation teams at European Team Chess Championships and World Team Chess Championships, achieving team gold and individual bronze. He has also competed at the Chess Olympiads, representing Russia.
