Igor-Alexandre Nataf is a French chess Grandmaster and chess writer. He was born on 12 May 1978 in Paris, France and is known for his win against the English Grandmaster Matthew Sadler at the Hastings International Chess tournament(1997–98), at only 19 years of age. He also won the French Chess Championship under the Junior category in 1997. He was part of the national team representing France at the 2000 Chess Olympiad held in Istanbul. In January 2005, Nataf defeated world champion Viswanathan Anand at the Corus Tournament. Apart from playing, he's also a writer for popular French chess magazine 'Europe Échecs'.
