Arseniy Nesterov is a Russian chess player who became the youngest ever awarded the title of International Grandmaster at the age of 14 years, 15 days on 12 June 2020, beating the previous record of 14 years, 1 month set by Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu.


Nesterov was born on May 28, 2006, in Moscow. His early fascination with chess led him to become a Candidate Master (CM) in 2016, a FIDE Master (FM) in 2017, and an International Master (IM) in 2019.


He achieved his first Grandmaster norm in the Nesterov Moscow Open 2019 (B-tournament), his second at the World Youth Chess Championship U14 in Mumbai, and clinched his third grandmaster norm at Vezerkepzo GM Mix on 12 June 2020. His meteoric rise in the world of Chess has cemented his name as a formidable player in the sport.
