Isan Reynaldo Ortiz Suárez is a Cuban chess Grandmaster known for his several notable achievements in the game of chess. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE (the international chess federation) in 2008. Born on November 29, 1985, in Holguín, Ortiz Suárez found success early, becoming a three-time U-20 National Champion of Cuba from 2003 to 2005.
After winning his Grandmaster title, Ortiz Suárez further improved his global standing in the chess world by winning the Cuban Chess Championship twice, once in 2012 and then again in 2013. He also contributed to Cuba’s Bronze medal win in the 2012 Chess Olympiad in Istanbul.
