Sergei Ovsejevitsch is an internationally recognized Lithuanian chess Grandmaster. Born on March 10, 1974, in Vilnius, Lithuania, Sergei was awarded the title of Grandmaster by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) in 1993. He was the Chess Champion of Lithuania in 1992 and 1998.


Ovsejevitsch has numerous impressive chess-competition feats to his name. He has won or shared first place in various chess competitions held around the world. Some of these victories include the Hamburg Championship in 2000, the Volga Cup in Kostroma in 2001, the Vlissingen Open in 2001, and the Paris City Championship in 2002. In addition, he had strong performances in the Dutch championships in 2001 and 2002.


Sergei has also contributed to Lithuania's performance in the Chess Olympiads for years, first participating in 1992. With a highest ranking of 2513 in October 2002, Ovsejevitsch is considered one of Lithuania's prominent chess players. He is known for his unique blend of strategy, tactics, and understanding of different aspects of the game.
