Davor Palo is a Danish chess player who has held the title of Grandmaster (GM) since 2005. He was born on October 2, 1985 in Nuuk, Greenland to a Danish mother and a Croatian father. At a young age, Palo moved to Denmark, where he began training in chess. He was tutored by chess player and author Bent Larsen until Larsen's death in 2010.
Palo has participated in numerous chess championships, both within Denmark and internationally. He became the Danish Champion in 2002 in his late teens and has participated in several Chess Olympiads on behalf of Team Denmark, the first of which was in 2002 when he was only 17 years old. At the European Individual Chess Championship 2004 he scored 6½/13.
Palo has also played for Denmark in the World Team Chess Championship and the European Team Chess Championship. He won an individual gold medal at the 30th European Team Chess Championship in Reykjavik 2015.
