Pang Tao is a Chinese chess grandmaster. His norms came at the SixDays Budapest tournament in January 2024, the Third Saturday round-robin in Novi Sad the following month, and the Sharjah Masters in May 2025, where wins over grandmasters Jakhongir Vakhidov and Varuzhan Akobian sealed the title, awarded that August.

In November 2024 he tied for second at the Rebecca Cup in Nanjing alongside Chen Zimu and Cao Qingfeng.
