David Paravyan is a Russian chess grandmaster who won the Moscow Open in 2018 and the Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival in 2020. Born in Russia on March 19, 1998, he attained his rank of grandmaster in 2015.

Although there isn't extensive information about Paravyan's early life, he has distinguished himself in the world of chess from a young age. In 2018, he tied for first place along with eleven others in the Aeroflot Open, but ultimately lost out on the title following a series of tiebreaks.

Paravyan began his successful 2020 run strong by winning the Gibraltar Masters in a playoff, a victory that caught the attention of chess enthusiasts. In national competitions, he has represented Russia several times in European Team Chess Championships.
