Mircea-Emilian Pârligras is a renowned Romanian chess player who holds the Grandmaster (GM) title, the highest title bestowed by the World Chess Federation, FIDE. He was born on the 28th of February, 1980, in Bucharest, Romania.


He won the Romanian Chess Championship twice, in 2008 and 2017. In 2011, Pârligras earned his distinction as a grandmaster and led the Romanian team at the European Team Chess Championship in the same year. Additionally, he has competed in multiple Chess Olympiads, representing Romania.


Internationally, Pârligras secured a victory at the Lugano Open in 2006 and achieved second place at the Zürich Christmas Open in 2009. He followed these with successful performances at the Cappelle-la-Grande Open in 2010 and the Isle of Man International in 2017.



In addition, Pârligras participated in the FIDE Grand Prix Series 2019, which is a high-profile chess competition that leads to the World Chess Championship.


Despite his accomplishments, Pârligras maintains a relatively private personal life outside of chess.
