Luís Manuel Pérez Rodríguez is a Spanish chess Grandmaster. He earned his International Master (IM) title in 1987 and his Grandmaster (GM) title in 1994. Born on 11 December 1960 in Asturias, he won the Spanish Chess Championship four times, in 1988, 1991, 1992, and 1994. In 1989, Rodríguez was the victor in the category 12 tournament in Benasque, Spain. In 1995, he also shared for 2nd place with Aleksey Dreyev and tied for 1st with 5 players in the Memorial Carlos Torre in Mérida, Mexico.
Rodríguez was also a representative for Spain at the Chess Olympiads, participating in the event multiple times between 1988 and 2004, winning individual silver in 1988. In 1992, he jointly won with Alexander Beliavsky in the category 15 tournament at the Pamplona International Chess Festival. He also tied for first place with 4 players in the Memorial Carlos Torre in Mérida, Mexico in 1996.
