Tigran L. Petrosian, not to be confused with the other chess grandmaster Tigran V. Petrosian (the 9th World Chess Champion), is an Armenian international chess grandmaster. His notable achievements in the world of competitive chess include winning the World Junior Chess Championship in 1984 and becoming runner-up in the Chess World Cup in 2009.
Throughout his career, Petrosian has competed in several Chess Olympiads, representing Armenia. With his team, he has claimed the Olympiad Championship twice as well as securing a silver medal one another time. He has also contested in FIDE (International Chess Federation) World Championships, reaching a quarter-final in one instance with a commendable performance.
