Martin Petrov is a Bulgarian chess International Master (IM) and FIDE trainer.
Petrov competed in three Chess Olympiads (2000, 2002, 2006) representing his home country Bulgaria. He also played for Bulgaria in a European Team Chess Championship in 2003. Aside from his championship titles, Martin Petrov also stood out in several individual tournaments such as the Villa de Sort International Open in Spain where he emerged as the champion.
As an author, Petrov has written numerous books on chess. Some of his publications include 'The Modern Benoni,' 'Sicilian Defence: Scheveningen Variation,' 'The Pirc Defence,' and 'The Caro-Kann Defence.' These books covered different strategies and variations of popular chess defences, providing valuable information and guidance for both new and seasoned players.
