Evgeniy Yuryevich Podolchenko is a prominent Ukrainian chess player who earned the international title of Grandmaster in 2006. He was born on May 26, 1983, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine.
Podolchenko demonstrated considerable success early on in his chess career. He won the U10 Ukrainian championship in 1993 and, ten years later, won the U20 age group championship. In 2006, he shared a victory in the round-robin stage of the Individual European Championship, which earned him his Grandmaster title.
Podolchenko has gone on to participate in numerous chess tournaments at a high level. Some of his most notable achievements include placing second at the Vasylyshyn Memorial tournament in 2008 and taking first place at the Mukachevo Autumn tournament in 2012. His last notable performance was in 2015 when he tied for first place at an international open event in Cappelle-la-Grande.
Podolchenko has also been involved in team competitions. He competed on the Ukraine U18 team that won the world team championship in 1999 and on the Poltava team that won the Ukrainian Team Championship in 2004.
