Abhimanyu Puranik is an Indian chess player who was granted the title of Chess Grandmaster by the World Chess Federation in May 2018.


Puranik was born on October 12, 2000, in Pune, India. He received his international master title in 2016 and his grandmaster title two years later.


He has won numerous awards, such as the Silver Medal at the World Youth Chess Championship in 2015 and the Bronze Medal in 2019. He also won the Maharashtra State Chess Championship in 2013 and 2016.


Puranik has represented India in several international events including the World Youth Chess Championships, Commonwealth Championships, and the Abu Dhabi Masters.


Notably, he finished 5th in the Aeroflot Open 2018, won the silver medal at the World Juniors 2019, and scored 6.5/9 points in the Aeroflot Open A 2020.
