Luis Ernesto Quesada Pérez is a Cuban chess Grandmaster. Pérez studied Physical Geography at the University of Havana. He achieved his Grandmaster title in 2008 after scoring 7/9 at the XIII Guillermo García Tournament in Santa Clara.
Career highlights include winning a bronze medal at the World U18 Championship in 2007 and the national Cuban Championship in 2008. He has represented Cuba in five Chess Olympiads between the years 2006 to 2014. He was also part of the Cuban team at the World Team Chess Championship in 2010 and 2017, and the Pan American Team Chess Championship in 2009.
Pérez has achieved noteworthy individual results including winning the Guillermo García Memorial Tournament in Cuba in 2008, and the Barcelona Open Chess Tournament, also in 2008.
