Yasser Quesada Pérez is a Cuban chess grandmaster, born on November 10, 1992. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster (GM) by FIDE (the international chess federation) in 2017.
Quesada Pérez has participated in several international chess competitions. He was a part of the Cuban team that participated in the 42nd Chess Olympiad in 2016, held in Baku, Azerbaijan. At the Capablanca Memorial tournament in Havana in 2018, he tied for first place and was declared the winner, after tiebreaks.
In 2019, he was included in the world top 100 players list, and in the same year, he played for the Cuban national team at the World Team Chess Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan.
In February 2021, during the Catalan Circuit of Chess Festivals, he achieved a high performance, securing 6.5 points out of 9, and won the closed tournament of Salou.
He also works as a chess coach. His brother, Yuniesky Quesada, is also an internationally recognized chess grandmaster.
