Nukhim N. Rashkovsky is a Russian chess Grandmaster (GM) who gained the title in 1982. He was born on 18 November 1946 in Nikopol, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. Rashkovsky won the Moscow City Chess Championship in 1980, and later in 2004 he scored an impressive 8.5 out of 11 in the World Senior Championship, placing second. He also had considerable success in team events; he was a two-time winner of the Soviet Team Chess Championship (1978, 1981) and twice won the European Club Cup (1979, 1980). Among his best-known students are GM Sergei Rublevsky and the brothers Alexei and Andrey Shirov.
