Allan Stig Rasmussen is a Danish chess player who earned the title of Grandmaster (GM) in 2009. He is best known for winning the Danish Chess Championship five times, in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017.


Born on December 13, 1983, in Glostrup, Denmark, Rasmussen started playing chess at a young age. He made significant strides in his early career, winning the U-14 Danish Youth Chess Championship in 1997.


Rasmussen's international chess career includes notable accomplishments. In the 2003 European Junior Chess Championship, he finished second. He has also played for Denmark in five Chess Olympiads from 2008 to 2016 and in the European Team Chess Championship in 2011 and 2017.


He has also been prolific in club-level chess competitions. From 2004 to 2016, Rasmussen was a part of the Aarhus/Skolerne team that participated in the Danish Chess Championships.


Overall, Rasmussen is recognised for his exceptional performances in both national and international chess competitions. Besides his successful chess career, he's a trained teacher and uses his skills to teach chess to school children in Denmark.
