Olivier Renet is a French chess Grandmaster. He was born on March 18, 1964 in Paris, France and has been a significant player in the French chess scene for many years. He won the French Chess Championship in 1986, and also in 1988.
In his early years, Renet won the Paris chess championship when he was just 16 years old, in 1980. He became a FIDE Master in 1982, an International Master in 1985 and a Grandmaster in 1989.
In 1988, he competed in the 28th Chess Olympiad, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, where his team performed admirably. He has also participated in various team championships in France, Spain, and The Netherlands.
An important aspect of Renet's career has been his passion for teaching chess. He is recognized for his teaching skills and has been involved in various chess training programs. He is the current coach of the French youth team. Furthermore, he has produced and participated in chess-related media, such as chess videos and commentary for tournaments.
