Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux is a Canadian chess Grandmaster (GM). He was born in Montreal, Quebec, and studied at Cégep André-Laurendeau in Canada. He is associated with La Maison Internationale des Arts de la Marionnette, a non-profit arts organization that promotes puppetry arts.


As a chess player, he achieved the title of International Master (IM) in August 2017, and earned the Grandmaster title in 2021 making him the 27th Canadian to receive this highest ranking. Rodrigue-Lemieux’s biggest achievement as a chess player was winning the World Open in Philadelphia, USA, in 2018. Additionally, he has competed in several national and international tournaments, with noted victories at the Quebec Open Chess Championship in 2017, where he finished in first place, and the Canadian Open Chess Championship in 2019, where he tied for first place. He has also represented Canada in team tournaments like the World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad in 2015.


Outside of competitive chess, Rodrigue-Lemieux has been involved in several chess-related activities. He worked at the Montreal Chess Club as a chess teacher between 2016 and 2018. From 2018 to 2019, he also served as arbiters at chess events.
